The Headache Society of India (HSI) was established to change that — by bringing together physicians, neurologists, neuroscientists and trainees from across the country who share a commitment to better headache care.

Access to India-specific guidelines.
HSI develops and periodically updates peer-reviewed guidelines for headache diagnosis and management in India, so that recommendations reflect our own patient population and practice realities.
Research collaboration.
The Society supports epidemiological and clinical research in headache medicine and helps members find collaborators, mentorship and research opportunities.
Fellowship and training opportunities.
HSI arranges and supports academic fellowship programmes for junior doctors seeking training in headache medicine at national and international centres.

Members receive the Society's quarterly headache newsletter, with the long-term plan of publishing the Indian Headache Journal.
International engagement.
HSI provides a platform for Indian headache experts to work with regional and global headache organisations, extending your professional reach beyond India.
Rights and privileges.
Members are entitled to participate in meetings and educational functions of the Society, to receive a Society identity card, and to inspect the records of the Society with the approval of the Governing Body. Life Members and Honorary Members also acquire the right to vote at General Body Meetings one year after joining.
A voice for headache medicine.
Beyond the individual member, HSI works to educate practitioners across the country and to disseminate reliable information on headache diagnosis and management through booklets, periodicals, books and social media — improving the standard of care for patients everywhere in India.
Who Can Join
Membership is open to neuro-physicians, physicians, neuroscientists and basic scientists with a demonstrable interest in headache medicine, subject to the applicant being of the age of majority, of sound mind, not adjudged insolvent, and not convicted of any offence involving moral turpitude. All applications are subject to the approval of the Governing Body.
